The Cancer 2024 Moonth

Both Mercury Retrograde in Leo as well as Mars and Jupiter coming together in Taurus serve as a backdrop to this Cancer moonth.  A focus on emotions and creating a secure and protective environment for ourselves and those we love is influenced by another look at what we are truly passionate about as well as a slow and steady approach with a pioneer spirit.  

Our Cancer Moonth starting with the New Moon on August 4th

This New Moon in Cancer shifts our focus toward our emotions and nurturing a secure and protective environment for ourselves and those we love.  A trine to the North Node in Pisces ensures support to and from our spiritual path.  A sextile to Jupiter with Mars in Taurus opens up support by keeping a slow and steady approach to things with a pioneer spirit.  Mars has a difficult time taking it slow in Taurus, but Jupiter will foster a successful environment if we take it one step at a time. 

The first quarter moon on August 12th in Libra challenges us to find balance in our lives.  An opposition to Uranus in Taurus intensifies the need for balance by illuminating our desire for resource freedom.  A trine to Saturn in Aquarius eases the challenge through the lens of our innovative structures.  Saturn also squares Mars with Jupiter in Taurus at this time encouraging us to integrate that pioneer spirit into our innovative structures.

The full moon on August 19th in Aquarius forms a T Square with Mercury Retrograde in Leo and Uranus in Taurus.  Taking what we have been learning this retrograde about our passions in life and striking the balance with our vision for the future will help to integrate this T square and provide what is needed to manifest our resource freedom.  Mercury Retrograde is also in a trine with Chiron at this time offering a supportive environment for deep healing.

The last quarter moon on August 26th in Taurus joins a Grand Trine with Uranus in Taurus, Pluto in Sagittarius and Venus in Virgo.  This last challenge to our resource sector has great potential to be quite beneficial.  Our desire for resource freedom, transforming perspective and value of improvement are all supporting this moon.

The six month cycle of this new moon prompts a status check with the Leo Full Moon in February on the development of our passions in life.  The next full moon in Cancer is not until February of 2026 placing a longer cycle on the culmination of matters pertaining to emotions and security.  Set any intentions with this longer cycle in mind.
