The Capricorn 2024 Moonth

All of the fast movers take their turn activating Pluto this moonth as he inches his way into Capricorn.  Pluto dips his toe in Capricorn starting with the full moon on the 24th and will be there through mid July before retreating to the comfort of Sagittarius where it will put the finishing touches on our collective perspective shift through the end of the year.  These next few moonths will give a preview of what to expect from Pluto’s roughly 15 year transit of Capricorn that will begin in earnest next year.  Take what you learn over these next few moonths and get ready for change.  Structures, both personal and collective will be broken down so that they can be rebuilt.  This may sound a bit scary, but it is also a golden opportunity to take personal responsibility and build the future the way that you want it.  Food for thought…the last time Pluto entered Capricorn was in the year 1776.  

Our Capricorn Moonth starting with the New Moon on February 9th

This New Moon in Capricorn invites intentions toward our long term structures and achievements in life.  A square to Uranus in Aries challenges us to integrate true self assertion and actualization.  The trine to the South Node in Virgo supports the release of past patterns with work, health and routine.  Saturn, the dispositor is transiting Aquarius this entire year.  This year is your chance to lay the plans for your authentic future.  Starting next year, you will have to find the flow with Saturn as it transits Pisces for a few years.

The first quarter moon on February 16th in Taurus presents a challenge with our resources and values.  A trine to Pluto with Venus and Mars at the end of Sagittarius supports a transformation to our values and desires via our perspective shift.

The full moon on February 24th in Leo as Pluto enters Capricorn for a few moonths invites a status check with our passions in life.  An opposition to Saturn and Mercury with the Sun in Aquarius seeks balance with our thoughts and plans for the future.  A trine to Jupiter in Aries presents supportive opportunities for independence and asserting our needs.  Take this gift to remember and honor what we love in life as we build our best future.

The last quarter moon challenge on March 3rd in Scorpio with a square to Mercury and Saturn with the Sun in Aquarius illuminates some deep truths that challenge our thoughts and plans for the future.  A trine to Chiron with the North Node in Pisces offers spiritual support and healing of deep wounds that sets us on our new path.  

The six month cycle of this new moon prompts a status check in July with the full moon in Sagittarius conjunct Pluto at the Capricorn cusp offering a chance to reflect on this preview of Pluto in Capricorn.  There is not a full moon in Capricorn until the end of July 2026, hinting that the intentions we are setting now will set us upon a two year cycle instead of the shorter 6 month cycle.  Set any intentions with this longer cycle in mind.
