Sowing Seeds of Freedom by Thinking Outside of the Box to Build Community
There are two cycles that should be looked at with new moons. One is the monthly cycle from new moon to new moon (think short term goals) and the other is roughly a six month cycle that ends when the full moon is in the same sign (long term goals). New moons offer a chance to set intentions that line up with the current energy flow.
The new beginnings for March of 2022 start with the New Moon on March 2nd in Aquarius. Aquarius is the water bearer, pouring life giving water for all to drink. The life giving water that we have to share with the community comes in the form of all of our unique talents. The conjunction with Jupiter will manifest expansive opportunities to design a new life centered around building community. The sextile to Uranus provides an opening for cultivating great freedom by thinking outside of the box. Uranus just finished doing quite the challenging square dance with Saturn throughout 2021. Essentially this has been a square off between freedom and restriction. If freedom and becoming your true self are things that you desire, I would highly recommend taking advantage of this available energy and setting intentions to think outside of the box so that you can start sharing your talents and building community.
Something interesting to note about this new moon is that there is a simultaneous stellium (more than two planets conjunct) of Pluto, Mars and Venus in Sagittarius. This stellium does not directly aspect the new moon, but when this much energy gets together it should be considered. Mars and Venus getting together bring the masculine and feminine together in a beautiful way. Our desires match our values at this time specifically relating to our perception. As soon as you add Pluto to the mix you get great transformation via a death and rebirth process. Pluto removes what is false and therefore makes way for big changes. Pluto can be a challenging planet to experience. Pluto has been in Sagittarius working to transform our perception since 2007. This stellium is in a very supportive trine with the North Node which represents the future of humanity. So, embrace the transformation of our perception surrounding our desires, resources, values & relationships and watch the destiny of humanity unfold.
The first quarter moon on March 10th brings a challenge in Taurus which represents our resources, finances and values. There is support with a trine to Saturn, but it may be hard to see without remembering to look at the forest and not the trees. Saturn is the long slow, steady, grounded approach to accomplishing your goals. It is known as the planet of restriction and structure. It is often representative of governments. However, there is a wonderful permaculture quote from Geoff Lawton that always helps me to find appreciation in what Saturn brings to the table. “The more restrictions on a design, the more eloquent the design.” Therefore, when our resources and values seem under attack this month, look to your long term goals and go back to the new moon energy of thinking outside of the box to cultivate freedom and community.
The full moon on March 17th in Virgo prompts a status check on our intentions for the month. Look to any harvests, or lack thereof, that you see in this area. There is a grand trine between the moon, Pluto and the North Node. The transformation that we are experiencing with our perception should prove to be very supportive for the future of humanity.
The last quarter moon on March 24th in Sagittarius will challenge our perception one more time before we prepare for the Balsamic phase in which we integrate everything we learned this month and clear out what does not serve us.
The long term cycle of this new moon will culminate in early September with the full moon in Aquarius. Set any long term goals with this in mind.
