The Virgo Eclipse 2023 Moonth

This moonth marks the late Eclipse season of the year.  Commencing with a Solar Eclipse (new moon) in Virgo activating the Pluto T-square to the Nodes that we have been experiencing all year.  This T-square finalizes just in time for the deep healing Ophiuchus New Moon of December.  The life lesson that we are learning involves a shift of perspective that is challenging us to release old patterns and embrace a better future.  The Lunar Eclipse (full moon) reminds us of the need to cultivate the independence to be our true selves as Uranus is completing its journey through Aries.  Put all of this together and embrace the energy that is encouraging us to release old patterns so that we can make room for a beautiful, healthy future that is aligned with our individual desires.

Our Virgo Moonth starting with the Solar Eclipse on October 14th

This Virgo Solar Eclipse conjunct Mercury activates our thoughts concerning our life path.  It is a South Node eclipse, therefore it is a chance to release old thought patterns.  This is mainly an energy to observe rather than utilize.  A T-square to Pluto near the end of Sagittarius will likely illuminate the old thought patterns that we are shedding due to the perspective shift we have experienced this year and even since Pluto entered Sagittarius back in 2007.

The first quarter challenge on October 21st conjunct Pluto in Sagittarius offers up a challenge relating to our shift of perspective.  A square to Mercury in Virgo further adds a challenge with communication, exchange or learning.  A trine to Uranus reminds us that this perspective shift is supportive to our freedom to be our true selves.  A sextile to Neptune in Pisces indicates that it will be easier to work through this challenge if you approach it from a receptive point of view and don’t force it.

The Lunar Eclipse (full moon) on October 28th in Aries prompts a status check on our independence, drive and needs.  The activation of the North Node, in this case, asks us to see how our independence, drive and needs are serving us on the direction of our life path.  An opposition to Mercury and Mars in Virgo strives for balance with communicating or learning about our need to improve our work, health and routine.  A loose conjunction to Jupiter in Aries simply illuminates possibilities to continue to cultivate our desires and independence in life.

The last quarter challenge on November 4th in Cancer in a T-square to Jupiter in Aries and Mars in Libra encourages us to find balance between opportunities for independence and the needs of relationships.  Leaning hard into one or the other can prove quite challenging to our emotional security here.

The six month cycle of this new moon prompts a status check in March and April with the full moons in Virgo offering an opportunity to reflect on how our work, health and routine has improved since we’ve released these old patterns and made way for a better future.
